Its been too long to stay away from the blogging world, so I'm back again! Ramadan was really good for me this year, I enjoyed it. Everything was going smooothly and I was feeling almost completely serene. This feeling, however, went away as soon as the month hit its end :(. So now I am back to myself... messy... disorganised... sad-lifed girl.
One good news though: I was selected to be a peer support leader for next year. That means I'll get to boss the year 7s around as much as I like...lol. We are getting our badges soon inshaallah. But it sort of is a lot of hassle, coming to school early... lunchtimes booked up.. leaving late. But I think it will push me to be a bit more organised.
All three of the Amin sisters are now wedded!! Hopefully we will have their wedding parties here again **hint** **hint**. This year has been filled with weddings! I didn't mind it though. Enjoying while I can. I have a feeling this season will take a break now. No weddings for a long time again :(.
Everyone's stopping blogging now. 'Tis so boring here nowadays. Hope to have you all back. DAGGERS: no excuses for you now!!
Holidays are coming up. Pray for me. I need a complete revolution in my organisational skills and time management skills :((!
Like fingerprints, no two lives are the same. Mine is filled with mistakes, contemplation, amendments, and repetition of all three.

Finding Myself
I see a mirror hung in that wall
But I don't think its working well,
i stoof infront and tried to look -
I tripped over, the mirror fell.
I see the water in the sea
But I don't think its very clear
When I leaned and tried to look
The wave splashed it away from here
I got a spoon and held it close
My breath steamed the surface, so,
I wiped it clean right away
But the spoon dropped to the floor
I can't see myself anywhere
I asked for help from the wise
Look within your heart, he said,
And that, I think sure would suffice.

My New Fascination....>
Robert Frost was one amazing guy. The first poem i read of him was A Road Not Taken and I absulutely LOVED it. This is another poem by him that i liked.
Asking for Roses
Asking for Roses
A house that lacks, seemingly, mistress and master,
With doors that none but the wind ever closes,
Its floor all littered with glass and with plaster;
It stands in a garden of old-fashioned roses.
I pass by that way in the gloaming with Mary; '
I wonder,' I say, 'who the owner of those is.'
'Oh, no one you know,' she answers me airy,
'But one we must ask if we want any roses.'
So we must join hands in the dew coming coldly
There in the hush of the wood that reposes,
And turn and go up to the open door boldly,
And knock to the echoes as beggars for roses.
'Pray, are you within there, Mistress Who-were-you?'
'Tis Mary that speaks and our errand discloses.
'Pray, are you within there? Bestir you, bestir you!
'Tis summer again; there's two come for roses.
'A word with you, that of the singer recalling--
Old Herrick: a saying that every maid knows is
A flower unplucked is but left to the falling,
And nothing is gained by not gathering roses.'
We do not loosen our hands' intertwining
(Not caring so very much what she supposes),
There when she comes on us mistily shining
And grants us by silence the boon of her roses.

BD as it is..~
We were watching the videos from Bangladesh yesterday and I really felt BDsick (not sick OF Bd..lol) so I thought I should write something up.
My trip to BD was absulutely unforgottable, fabulous and yes, fantasmagoric!!! My cousins were just shocking. The 4 ft talls became 6 ft, 2 ft talls became 4 ft and unborns were born. I have this really cute 3 yr old cous who just loovves the flynn's family anthem. I knew practically the whole song in my first wk 'cause he always sang it.
My half irish cousins - came from England about a week later and we had unbelievable times! All of my mum's side family met up in nanubari and headcounts got up to 56(!!). One of my irish bros showed us his lungis and tupis he got very excitedly..lol. We were all trying to teach them bangla and we kind of succeeded! Except that every single time we played kanamachi.. they would say: "kemon achi bho bho/ something something something something." Then they did a chocolate hunt for the kids and i got to help out. It was really good except that some of the kids started crying when they couldn't find the chocolates. Every night the boys and our mamas would have badminton matches and we would cheer from the sideline. Then after the matches we would all sit in the pukurghat and talk until midnight. *sigh*... good times...
And I'll not forget the impossible-made-possible ride on our way back from nanubari when FIFTEEN of us piled into a 7 seater! To make things worse, half way in the highway, I figured that I left my batteries for my mp3 player in nanubari.. life sure got stuffy at times.
But then, our cousins took us to Pizza Hut - the only halal pizza hut - which made up for it. 6 of us went - us three, those two, and another 1. Each of us ordered a made-for-two-people pizza and ate our hearts out. Then we had dessert that was just as delililicious!
I have a cousin who started hijab after we went (alhamdullillah). I hope she keeps it up.. Anyway, she was someone I said everything to, and she told me all her 'secrets' too...lol. We had so much fun together.
Apart from spending time with cousins and family, most of my days were started wandering up a shopping mall with ma/apuni and ended with wandering down the shopping mall with a dozen bags in both hands and looking half dead. I got a lot of salwar kamizes, earrings and so on.. AND I got a sari that is totally pretty!!! Apuni and I also made the sale rate of BDfood and Pran achar, dalbhaja etc go high. (I think the 2 extra kilos on my body came from them.)
The two weddings I attended was just fantastic. They were mostly completely Islamic. The food were great, the people were great and the brides were great! I was stunned to see Doe in all those jewelleries and the pretty sari, sitting ever so bridishly in that chair!! But then, I was more stunned only imagining M apu and A apu like that..!
I had a proffessional facial! at a real beauty perlour! AND a proffessional haircut! I have my hair in a u-shape at the back and I have layered fringes at the front. I am totally fascinated by my hair now~! lol.
Anywayz, i'm getting told to get off now.. unless i could've gone on for ages!

You Are 13 Years Old (hey its close enuf!!)
Under 12: You are a kid at heart. You still have an optimistic life view - and you look at the world with awe.
13-19: You are a teenager at heart. You question authority and are still trying to find your place in this world.
20-29: You are a twentysomething at heart. You feel excited about what's to come... love, work, and new experiences.
30-39: You are a thirtysomething at heart. You've had a taste of success and true love, but you want more!
40+: You are a mature adult. You've been through most of the ups and downs of life already. Now you get to sit back and relax.
You Are 30% Boyish and 70% Girlish
Even if you're not a girl (?????) you are very feminine.
You're in touch with your feelings, and your heart rules you.
A bit of a emotional roller coaster, one moment you're up and the next you're down.
But no matter what, you try to be as cute and perky as possible.

Something we should all consider...
This is really scary. I got this poem in a fwd a couple of days ago and thought that there's something to think about here - for most of us..
I knelt to pray but not for long,
I had too much to do.
I had to hurry and get to work
For bills would soon be due.
So I knelt and said a hurried prayer,
And jumped up off my knees.
My Muslim duty was now done
My soul could rest at ease.
All day long I had no time
To spread a word of cheer.
No time to speak of Allah to friends,
They'd laugh at me I'd fear.
No time, no time, too much to do,
That was my constant cry,
No time to give to souls in need
But at last the time, the time to die.
I went before the Lord,
I came, I stood with downcast eyes.
For in his hands God held a book;
It was the book of life.
God looked into his book and said
"Your name I cannot find.
I once was going to write it down...
But never found the time."
Something we can improve on this Ramadan.

Gaan
I wrote this song for an assignment this year. I have nothing else to post, so...
Why is it so hard?
Why does it sound so absurd?
Why can’t I just apologise,
I know I gotta pay my price…
But every time I try,
I break down and cry,
I get back to square one –
I start all over again.
Maybe there was a time,
When breathing seemed like some crime,
And I lived on my silent dreams…
Maybe there was a time,
When there was nothing so sublime –
So I lived on my silent dreams.
All those days have passed,
Things are good at last;
But I still haven’t got it right…
I know I am to blame,
I have nothing I wanna claim –
‘Cause I still haven’t got it right.
Every night I think –
Tomorrow when I blink,
The past will disappear
And so will my fears.
But why doesn’t it ever?
Why does it hint me to be braver?
I still live by my hope,
But I know I’ll never cope.
It’s just whatever I do
Whatever I hear
Whatever I see
I can’t hold back my tears.
Whatever I want
Whatever I know
Whatever I think
I can’t get up and go.
Maybe there was a time
When breathing seemed like some crime
And I lived on my silent dreams…
Maybe there was a time
When there was nothing so sublime
So I lived on my silent dreams.
All those days have passed
Things are good at last
But I still haven’t got it right
I know I am to blame
I have nothing I wanna claim
‘Cause I still haven’t got it right.
Why is it so hard?
Why does it sound so absurd?
Why can’t I just fix the wrong,
I know I gotta get along
But every time I try,
I break down and cry,
I get back to square one
I start all over again.
Maybe there was a time,
When breathing seemed like some crime,
And I lived on my silent dreams…
Maybe there was a time,
When there was nothing so sublime –
So I lived on my silent dreams.

jibon in general
ahh.. life. What can I say? so much is going on yet so little to say. A lot of things happened since the last time i wrote. whew... lets just try n take it in ... slowly....
I cut my hair (myself!!) about 20 cm. Mamoni and apuni went crazy over it. Apperently i wrecked it. I asked my dear bro if i just caused a disaster or not and he looked at me for a few secs and went "koi aki to lage"...:S. I wanted to cut it shorter but gave that a second thought and decided better of it as i really dont want mamoni and apuni to burn our house down. Snowman is about to get a better transformation i believe...
We went to Malabar Beach about 2 weeks ago (or was it 3!??) and HELL! it was beautiful!! The last time I went to a beach was 9 years ago - when we went to Cox's Bazaar in BD. Now thats a long time to me.. so I obviously felt like I missed the sea for a while. The cool blue water.. soft gold sand.. beautiful rocks and shell.. its really hard not to get poetic once you've been there. At first we went over to the rocks and had an early lunch. Lunch that we picked up from "Taste of Thai" - even THAT is poetic. Anywayz, after we ate, mamoni decided that we should literally feel the ocean at our feet.. so there we went standing in the wet rocks waiting for a wave to take us away..lol. At last.. the awaited moment came and half of my skirt got fully wet from it. After a lot of waves and my dear bro's photography session, we felt that that we had enough for the time being. So we sprawled (as in sitting not lying) on the deserted rocks and dried our clothes in the beautiful warm sun... *sigh*.. *great times*... Then Baba discovered an amazing 'secret passageway' to the other side. He thought it was too small to fit my fat self through. AND I PROVED HIM WRONG!! i actually went all the way. Then only after I was on the other side that I realised that I am about to be face a ferocious dog. As I was inching away I heard the owner say "dont worry he wont hurt you" and I nearly died of embarrasment. After the dog and its 'thoughtful' owner passed past me i carefully made my way through the 'secret passageway' again.
After we got a bit bored of seeing rocks, we made our journey back to the sandy part of Malabar. As we went there.. we had to pass the transition point.. which was the MSS, in details - Malabar SEWERAGE System. It was a long tube... and.. lets not get too much explanatory.
So we took off our sandles and sank in the sand.. ahh.. did it feel good. Luckily there werent much people there.. In fact... its a wonder why there werent practically ANYONE swimming/sun bathing cuz it was a really nice day! Anyway, after we got all sandy we went and washed up, did wudu, and prayed. O did I mention that there was a sign there next to the MSS saying that anyone who took shells will be fined up to $500? Apperently my subconcious mind felt more caring than them and decided that I should leave my ring and my bracelet on the sink. I remembered that I was wearing them way later.. when we were nearly home.
Anyway.. after we prayed.. we drived a little bit more and went a bit higher. There were more rockes there.. but also some really nice hilly grassy areas that looked over onto the ocean. By that time I was fully literally exhausted! So we had a Snicker (I am soo glad they're back!) each and some chips too. Then we did some more sea-seeing. We found another really nice rocky area that was kind of closed off from the rest of the beach. We spent some time there and prayed Asar. I found a good hiding place there too.
THEN we climed back up and down and down and up and finally reached our car. We slumped in. I took my Angels and Demons, my dear bro and apuni slept on either side of me. Mamoni was going on with her usual car activity - keeping a cautious look on the road while Baba drived.
Half way through our journey I decided not to spend the rest of my time wasting this way and invented a game that all of us played for the rest of the journey. The game is like this: All of us had to speak in Bangla, every freaken word in Bangla - even words like chair, table, packet and the norms! We started at 10 points and if anybody said one word in English they would have 1 point taken off. We had the most unexpected result - Baba and Mamoni tied on 5, my dear bro on 7, Apuni on 9 AND ME ON 10!!!! And guess what I got as a prize? a rotten orange fresh from the 'packet' (mamoni lost 1 point here), officially announced by Mamoni.... *sigh* why did I ever take the time to think out this game??
Man I can write a lot!! lol. this is prolly a record!!

Hobiba/Bibaho/Biye
Marriage seems to be the hot topic around people now a days. M Apu's marriage blog exceeds 54 comments now! Out of all these debates and fantasies, someone even managed to get married themselves. Congrats to the bride. But young minds like me wants to see more things happening around the world aka more marriages. So i ask u (all the eligible people) why dont you get a move on too and satisfy us?

I got this from a fwd. (I kno.. yes, i do read some fwds. NOTE THE SOME.) [this DOES NOT give u the licence to bug me about this forever]
Friend calls your parents by mr. and mrs.
Best friend calls your parents dad and mom.
Friend has never seen you cry.
Best friend has always had the best shoulder to cry on.
Friend never asks for anything to eat or drink.
Best friend opens the fridge and makes herself at home.
Friend asks you to write down your number.
Best friend asks you for their number.
Friend borrows your stuff for a few days then gives it back.
Best friend has a closet full of your stuff.
Friend only knows a few things about you.
Best friend could write a biography on your life story.
Friend will leave you behind if that is what the crowd is doing.
Best friend will always go with you.
Friends Forever!
Written with a pen
Sealed with a kiss
If you are my friend,
Please answer this:
Are we friends or are we not?
You told me once, but I forgot..
So tell me now and tell me true,
So I can say, I am here for you.
Of all the friends I've ever met,
You're the ones I won't forget..
And if I die before you do,
I'll go to Heaven
And wait for you.

I've seriously had some random experiences in my life. Probably they were passed down from ma, because apperently she experienced those too. One of those occured yesterday, timing perfectly, as I was having the time of my life. We had one of those family outings (if u can call our family a "family" without baba), this time we went to the city.
We were having perfect fun catching the train, rushing to change trains, having hot chips, having a verbal "decent" fight with the ticket checker, getting on the ferry, letting the cool breeze freeze our face, going to Luna Park, laughing at all those people shrieking and wishing we were in their place, rushing again to get on the ferry, walking all the way to IMAX, getting 4 tickets and waiting for 40 minutes for the movie and FINALLY watching it.
The real "experience" started when we were getting out. Disaster striked: my 2 inch heel shoe (which belonged to my mum for 14 years) had seperated itself from the sole, INCLUDING the heel. I was on the verge of crying when my mum (dear dear mum) told me she could fix it - with a board pin. So there i was, asking around for two board pins while dragging my disaster struck foot with me. NOBODY and I mean NOBODY had two freaken board pins!!
After struggling for half an hour, mum temporarily fixed my shoe with a hijab pin. 5 minutes gone and I am stuck with the disaster struck foot again. Even with my chocolate coloured face (as ridi apu calls it) I turned tomato red (even tomatoier than flynn apu) when all the people passing by were giving me funny looks.I managed to put up with all those flies in the windscreen (more like elephants inside the car) until my heel completely came off. Thats when I decided that I should pull the other heel out too and make both of them look like flat sandals.
BTW, dont worry all those who r worrying, i got some new sandals.
